Mraz and Me

You know - I still visit LJ every single day.  I only have about 3 friends who post with any regularity, and I love reading what they have to say!  Facebook has pretty much stolen the fun out of journaling for me - when I can post short blurbs about what's happening throughout the day, it makes it more difficult to want to sit down and rehash it all in one long post.

A ton of crap has happened with me in the past few months - mainly having to do with losing my job - but damned if I don't feel like sitting here typing it all out.  I'm just now getting to a place where I don't mope about it any more and to tear open that wound would be counterproductive.  Suffice it to say that I lost my job through some very, very unfair treatment.  I did nothing wrong but got on the bad side of someone who had the power to see me terminated.  I am filling a discrimination suit with the EEOC.  In the meantime, I am looking for a job - but part of me wants to take the summer off.

I've been pretty active in the freedom from religion circles - the separation of church and state has been a big issue for me lately, especially when it comes to women's rights and basic HUMAN rights like marriage (gay or otherwise.)  You don't have to be against religion to support freedom, but it's hard not to be when you see how downright cruel some can be.

Good to see you posting again. I read LJ about once or twice a week and maybe post once or twice a month.

I'm really sorry to hear about your job. Glad to hear you are going after them. I've lost two jobs this year. The first due to a layoff, the other due to "not having the skills they thought I had." I'm jaded, depressed, and looking to change careers. School is definitely on the table, but I'm putting up lots of roadblocks.

Anyway, hope you can take the summer off to regroup and relax. Best of luck to you.

*waves* Good to see you! Sorry about your job though :( But I hope in the end it all turns out for the best, you never know! (If I were you I'd definitely take a step back and enjoy the summer... start intensive job hunting a bit later :)
You know what's funny? every single time I see Jason Mraz on tv or hear him on the radio (he was here in Spain just recently) you always pop up in my mind! "Jason Mraz=oh Carriep63!" :)

I check LJ every day too... but have also lost the need to write... it doesn't flow naturally like it used to...

Good to see you online again.
I'm sorry for your job loss. I'm sure you'll find a new job soon. I'll pray for you if you don't mind. :)
Try to relax a bit and don't think about the shit that happened at your old job. Try to keep the faith. :)
I was looking for a job for almost three years. And finally I got one. And quess what; I'm cleaning a church now. And I love it. :D
